Shahid Kapoor to play the role in Mira Nair's Film: Reportedly the Bollywood cute and romantic actor Shahid Kapoor will play lead in a Mira Nair film based on Mohsin Hamid's second novel, The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

Having devoted 2010 exclusively to Mausam, his father Pankaj Kapoor's directorial debut, Shahid has been on the lookout for promising projects for 2011.

He is reported to have given a nod for Sajid Nadiadwala productions' next, tentatively titled Heer Ranjha, but there is no official confirmation. Besides, Shahid recently told his Twitter fans that he plans to rebound in 2011 doing three films!

According to a Mumbai Mirror source, "Mira has already met Shahid. The actor loves the script."

Two are reportedly working on the formalities with an aim to start production early next year.

The Reluctant Fundamentalist is set in an outdoor Lahore café with the protagonist, a bearded Pakistani man called Changez (the Urdu name for Genghis), reminiscing to a nervous American stranger about how he fell in love with America, but eventually abandoned it.

Changez was a top Princeton graduate. He was hand-picked by a top New York valuation firm Underwood Samson and he lived the American dream to the full until 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Mira reportedly believes Shahid has the intensity required to play the role of Changez.

Katrina Kaif And Shahid Kapoor in Upcoming Movie Heer Ranjha. First there were rumours that she had replaced Deepika as Ranbir’s girlfriend. Now, it seems that Katrina has replaced Deepika in a movie too.

Recently, there was a buzz created when Deepika Padukone was rumoured to star opposite Shahid Kapur in Sabir Khan’s Heer Ranjha. She was keen to do the film and had given the go-ahead.

However, reports suggest that Deepika has been unceremoniously dropped and Katrina has replaced her. Our source informs, “Deepika is still to recover from the shock as she didn’t even know she was out of the film. She had said yes to Sajid and was all set to sign the film when she learnt that Katrina has already been finalised. Now Katrina, who has only some YRF films currently, wanted to be a part of the film and called Sajid who is her rakhi brother and said that she was keen to star in the film. Shahid and Priyanka split-up

Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra never made their relationship public because they were never sure about their relationship. Constant fight has taken a toll on their relationship and now news broke out that they separated.
Confirming the news a source said, “Shahid and Priyanka are fond of each other. But once they are in a relationship, things get more intense and cease to work. Both individuals have different perspectives on life and are career driven. The actors never went public about their relationship because they were always very uncertain about its status. Things always kept fluctuating and they were on and off for a long period. Only a few months ago did they patch up, only to break up though.”

It all started after Priyanka Chopra returned from Brzail shooting ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’. “The constant fights finally ended the relationship,” adds the source.

Though the couple was spotted in various occasions together, they never spoke about their alleged relationship as they were not sure about its longevity.

Katrina to play Shahid's Heer in Heer Ranjha

Heer Ranjha Movie - Shahid Kapoor, Katrina Kaif play the lead role: Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has refuted reports that Katrina Kaif has been finalized as female lead in Heer Ranjha.

In and interview with Mid-Day published today, September 29, Nadidwala said only Shahid Kapoor

has been finalized for Sabir Khan's romcom.

He also said that Priyanka had similarly not been finalized for Siddharth

Anand's romcom with Saif Ali Khan.

"Shahid is doing Sabir Khan's Heer Ranjha. Once Sabir completes the script, we'll start casting the actress for Heer's role. Neither Katrina, nor Priyanka has been approached," said Nadiadwala.

There were reports earlier this month that Khan had wanted to sign up either Deepika or Katrina for the Heer Ranjha, but since Katrina didn't have dates Deepika was finalized.

Later in the month it was reported that Katrina had replaced Deepika.

Shahid refuses to share any public forum with his ladylove Priyanka

Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor is clearly suffering from the once-bitten-twice-shy syndrome. The actor who was last seen on talk show ‘Kofee with Karan’ with his ex-lover Kareena Kapoor has refused to come on the show’s third season with his present girlfriend Priyanka Chopra.

It seems that Shahid no longer wants to go on public forum with his girlfriend that he isn’t too sure of.



Confirming the news, a source said, “Shahid is still not sure about Priyanka. She is very important and dear to him but he would rather take some more time and make the relationship stronger than appear on national television making statements about it.”

What’s more is that even though his ladylove Priyanka was reportedly pleading the Moranis to convince Shahid to join their forthcoming world tour, Shahid turned it down.

And there is still a lot of trouble in their paradise. As per reports, the two have frequent arguments, “This is another reason why Shahid has opted out of Karan’s show. He is obviously not comfortable being grilled by Karan, who is known for being audacious with his guests and even more so, if they are reportedly in a relationship.”

Another source from the television industry told a news daily, “The broadcasters of Koffee With Karan are very hopeful that they would have Shahid and Priyanka together on the show.”

Well looks like Kareena Kapoor has caused much emotional damage to Sasha.
