Why would Shaks and Duggu give photogs a thumbs-up outta the blue?

Deepika, Shahid impressed with ITA awards

Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor, two of the most glamorous stars from Bollywood descend on the Star Plus channel and are highly impressed by the grandeur, performances and the talent at Maruti Suzuki presents ITA awards night.
Deepika witnessed an act performers by the four leading ladies on television i. e Pratiggya, Archana, Anandi and Daya ben from across channels who brought alive the magic of Various cultures of India true to their character settings. She enjoyed it absolutely and was floored. She also acknowledged how big television had become and thanked all TV stars for the entertainment and the great work they were doing.

Shahid Kapoor on the other hand landed up to everyone’s pleasant surprise quite unexpectedly. Shahid who is one of the nominees for best anchor, Music and Film based show for Star screen awards held this year turned up at the event without any big coterie of people and was also equally impressed by the grandeur of the event with the entire television industry in attendance. Remains to be seen what Deepika and Shahid have in store at the Awards night . The Maruti Suzuki presents ITA Awards will be available on 21 Nov, Star Plus at 8 pm.

Is Ranbir the reason behind the Shahid – Priyanka breakup?

However there was no commitment in the relationship and it was this fact which ultimately led to the couple’s so-called breakup. But is it all so simple or is there somebody behind Shahid’s and Priyanka’s sudden decision to call off their relationship?
If reports are anything to go by, a certain Ranbir Kapoor, may be the man behind the collapse in the Shahid – Priyanka love story.
Though the couple is remaining tight-lipped, media speculations suggest that Shahid Kapoor was always uncomfortable about the growing closeness between rumored girlfriend Priyanka and Ranbir Kapoor’s during the filming of their recently concluded film Anjaana Anjaani. Priyanka Chopra on the other hand not only refused to put an end to her friendship with Ranbir Kapoor, but also went ahead and signed another film with the rising star.
Friends of the couple say that both Shahid and Priyanka have an opinion of their own and at this point of time in their career are not prepared to commit to a full-fledged relationship. Therefore the best method thatthe duo could apply was to call off whatever they had between them and walk their separate ways.

Priyanka, Shahid fight over Ranbir

While Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have definitely called off their relationship (as reported by this paper on October 12, 2010), no one knows as to what triggered the decision.

Apparently, the couple had a big fight over Ranbir Kapoor during the last days of their relationship.

Priyanka had gotten quite friendly, it seems, with Ranbir Kapoor while shooting for Siddharth Anand's Anjaana Anjaani; she also went ahead and signed another film opposite Ranbir during this time, Anurag Basu's Silence. All this did not go down well with Shahid.

Says a source, "Shahid was getting jealous and increasingly uncomfortable about Priyanka's growing proximity to Ranbir. He then confronted Priyanka about Ranbir."

Apparently, when confronted, Priyanka retort was a very strong one. She told Shahid, 'You have many friends who are girls. Do I mind that? And more importantly, you haven't committed to me yet. Then why are you objecting to my friendship with Ranbir?'. It was post this fight that the two decided to end their relationship and go their separate ways.

It may be recalled that a few days before Anjaana Anjaani hit the theatres, Shahid was rumoured to be very miffed about the Priyanka-Ranbir kiss in the film.

The source adds, "The problem in Shahid and Priyanka's relationship was not just the fact that they happen to be very strong individuals with different tastes, but also that both of them had never committed to each other. There was possessiveness from both sides, but no commitment in the offing.

That hastened the end to their relationship soon after the fight over Ranbir. Shahid and Priyanka had many ups and downs in their relationship, but this time it's final; even their common friends are not mediating now. It's all over."

Now they are anjaana anjaani.

‘Heer Ranjha’,a contemporary take on the Punjabi folklore romance will have Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone opposite each other. Well, the buzz is Katrina has lost the role to Deepika.
The rumour was confirmed by the director Shabir Khan, who reasoned out for casting Deepika as she possessed a face that could look both contemporary and classical and can also meet the script’s demand. Another USP’s of the movie will be its music that will be composed by Pritam. There will be six songs in the movie that will have a romantic essence without loosing its contemporariness.
The movie will go on floors in April 2011. Well, while Deepika has lost Ranbir Kapoor to Katrina Kaif, she has surely managed to win over her in securing ‘Heer-Ranjha’!

November 03, 2010, (Sawf News) - Deepika Padukone has reportedly been confirmed as lead opposite Shahid Kapoor in Heer Ranjha, a contemporary take on the Punjabi folklore romance.
The film is being directed by Sabir Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
Deepika was rumored as the leading lady soon after the film was announced, but then there were reports that she had been dumped in favor of Katrina Kaif, who was keen to act in the film and had approached her Raakhi brother Nadiadwala for the role.
In an interview with Mid Day published on September 30, Nadiadwala denied that Katrina Kaif or Deepika Padukone had been approached for the film.
Sabir Khan has now confirmed that Deepika it is.
"We opted for Deepika because we needed a face that could look contemporary and classical. Among the current line-up of actresses, only she could measure up to my script's demands," he says. [via Mid Day]
Sabir says that the film's music will be one of its USPs and it will be scored by Pritam.
"Music is indeed a very integral part of this film. And I am so very happy to have Pritam on board for it. There are 6 songs in the film. The core of the music will be romance... music that will depict that it's a love story, at the same time it'll be contemporary," he says. [via Bollywood Hungama]

Deepika-Shahid as Heer-Ranjha

If all goes well, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor would be seen for the first time together on screen in Heer And Ranjha, a contemporary take on the old Heer-Ranjha legend, to be directed by Sabir Khan, reports Mid Day.

But the only problem is Deepika's height. The actress doesn't like to be paired with actors who are shorter in height than her. According to sources, before the shooting of Karthik Calling Karthik, Farhan Akhtar had to actually stand next to her, and show her that he can match her height.

Director Sabir has however succeeded in convincing the actress that she and Shaks would look fine together. He tells Mid Day, "I don't think it really makes a difference if the leading lady is taller than the hero.Any heroine, no matter how tall, is keen to work with Aamir Khan. Dippy has agreed to do the film. I think Shahid and she make a great pair. They've never been paired before."

Adds the director, "We opted for Deepika because we needed a face that could look contemporary and classical. Among the current line-up of actresses, only she could measure up to my script's demands.As for Shahid, he's an intense actor. I'm positive this pair can project the pangs of passionate love." Shahid Kapoor: Why is he hiding his face these days?

Ex of Kareena Kapoor and present of Priyanka Chopra, actor Shahid Kapoor is maintaining a low profile these days. After all, it has been long time since his last film hit the theatres and Shasha (as he is fondly called) is lying low in his den.

In fact, literally, speaking he is hiding his face these days. And there are two reasons for that: 

   1. Firstly, his dad Pankaj Kapur has requested him to not to reveal his new look which he has been sporting for the film ‘Mausam’. In fact, Shahid had recently gone to a public event and the tabloids swooped on him with their cameras like a hawk swoops down to its prey. After that faux pas, Shahid has been strictly ordered not to step out of his house. 

   2. And there is also a second reason behind his hibernation. Reportedly, Shahid has recently got his wisdom tooth extracted (must have been painful) and his face is a tad swollen. Hence, he has cut down on his social life.

And speaking of girlfriend Priyanka Chopra, the duo must have decided to keep things a bit low. After all, with Shahid in Mumbai and Priyanka in Berlin, there’s not much coochie cooing taking place.

Anushka Sharma is just two films old and at a time when most actors are vying to reach the top spot, the leggy lass seems unfazed by the competition. Anushka says that she is in no hurry to sign films and is happy with the kind of work coming her way.
“I am not bound by any contract and I am quite satisfied with the kind of films that are being offered to me. To start with a banner like Yash Raj Films is like being born with a silver spoon,” she says.
Her upcoming film sees her play a wedding planner but in real life the actor has not even given shaadi a thought. “At this point in my career, tying the knot is not on my list of priorities at all. In fact, I haven’t even given it a thought as yet.” Though marriage seems like a distant possibility, she does believe in the institution. “At the end of the day I am like every other girl who wants to get married but only when the time is right.”
Ask her what are the qualities she would look for in a guy, and she
is quick to retort, “I can’t say things like good eyes, tall, dark and handsome. I just hope that my Mr Right will like me and respect me for the person I am.” More than anything Anushka hopes that her man will support her and understand the pressures of her profession.
Anushkaenjoyed playing a wedding planner her new film and the best part she says was getting together and having fun. “ The energy of a marriage house with people buzzing around constantly was electrifying.”
Add to that her co-star Ranveer Singh. Ranveer and she bonded really well and their friendship and camaraderie extended beyond the sets as well. “Ranveer is a great co-star. We became great friends and maybe that is the reason why people who spotted us together mistook us to be dating. It’s quite funny actually to read about my various link-ups each day in the papers,” she ends reacting to rumours about her and actor Shahid Kapoor in the past.
